Nepal / Bhutan 2019

Visits to orphanages/schools

It was a last-minute trip to Nepal and Bhutan to visit a few orphanages and schools with a few friends and donors. Although the trip was short and tiring, we were happy to see the children again! We ran a few activities and everyone bonded very well.

Nepal, my 2nd home since 2006.. always feels good to be back.

Visited Sechen Clinic & Hospice and met the Managing Director, Dr Kunsang Dolma Sherpa. She is such a wonderful woman and has done so much for the community. OPRJ is going to collaborate with her team to work on some Women's health projects!!!

She took us on a visit to the patients at the hospice. These are terminally ill patients whom we can only give them our love and prayers. We gave them and their caregivers scarfs for the coming winter. To respect some, we did not take photos. Every patient is grateful to the love and warmth of the scarfs. I pray that they live to use them this and many coming winters.

We sent our love to old folks home: 63 beanies / Scarf 71/ Juice 150 packets / Biscuits 150 packs

Giving out Beanies, scarfs, school bags, and supplies. Our volunteer also donated for their Bed project.

Distributing things are important but spending time with the children is also important. This year we decided to bring ingredients from Singapore and made snow skin mooncakes with them! We all had so much fun! The mooncakes were send to Tilganga Hospital and other Homes.

Even the dog loves us!

We sent School supplies to this Home for Girls

and the mooncake made by the earlier Home...

welcoming us the Nepali way

We also visited Tilganaga hospital to confirm our 2020 Seeing Hope Project

Not forgetting some administrative work for OPRJ.. getting our Volunteer Vests!

We are later joined by more friends ...

Our youngest team member this trip. It was an eye-opener for him. Wishing Aldo all the best for his further studies in Australia.

Bhutan

We arrived Bhutan and immediately went to Wangsel School for the Hearing Impaired. I've been visiting the school for years. This time we sent about 130 beanies and scarfs to Wangsel school of Hearing Impaired ( 106 students and 22 teachers). We also donated some snacks, Vaseline, and cash for the school.

If anyone has any connections to get hearing aids sponsorships, please let me know 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Scarfs knitted by: Knots with Love FHG & Project Cinderella Giving out beanies and scarfs to the elderly @ Memorial Chorten, Thimphu Bhutan. They are so happy! The 2 aunties so happy and kept holding our hands. So happy to see the elderly enjoying our gifts. It’s really important during winter. Some of them are from the nearby hospital, home who might not have children to take care of them. Others go there while their kids are at work. What a good way to spend time.

We also bought some supplies for a Monastic school.

and continue with our sightseeing...
